    Student Unions & Engagement (SUE) operates the Sadler Center and Campus Center, offering developmental programs and services to all members of the campus community including students, faculty, staff and external constituents.
  2. Scheduling Office
    The Scheduling Office, a function of Student Unions & Engagement, reserves the on-campus space and facilities needed for meetings, parties and special events for recognized student organizations, faculty, staff and sponsors of non-W&M events.
  3. Schroeder Center for Health Policy
    The Schroeder Center for Health Policy informs and educates policy decision makers to provide timely information and rigorous unbiased analysis of health and healthcare policy. It supports graduate and undergraduate students who pursue study, internships and careers in these fields, as well as supporting faculty research and community partnerships.
  4. Sexual Violence Resources
    Sexual violence is an issue of significant concern on American college campuses, including William & Mary. We are dedicated to providing first-rate information and resources to educate our students and the public about sexual violence prevention and awareness.
  5. Sharpe Community Scholars Program
    Sharpe Scholars live together and learn together in common courses that engage participation in broader communities. Scholars benefit from a diverse program of experiential learning opportunities, faculty-mentored research training with community at the center, and eligibility for summer grant funding for community-based research.
  6. Sir Christopher Wren Building
    The Sir Christopher Wren Building is the oldest academic building in continuous use in the United States.
  7. 1619-2019: Remembering 400 Years
    William & Mary marks the four-hundred-year anniversary of the arrival of the first captive Africans in Virginia with an array of projects focused on remembrance.
  8. Social Science Research Methods Center
    Our goal is to facilitate students in both developing their own independent research projects and developing the skills necessary to be competitive for jobs requiring data analysis skills.
  9. Social Stream
    Social Stream offers a real-time display of tweets, posts, photos and videos from William & Mary. Social Stream also offers a directory of campus social media channels sponsored by campus offices and the Alumni Association.
  10. Sociology
    Sociology is the study of social life, social change, and the social causes and consequences of human behavior. Undergraduate students may focus their studies on globalization; health and medicine; criminology and law; and social problems, policy, and justice.
  11. Spanish
    Our program invites students to become fluent in the Spanish language and promotes cultural competencies based in the Spanish-speaking world, including the U.S. Students explore forms of cultural production including photography, film, art, social and mass media, literature, material culture, and historical documents.
  12. Speech
    Speech at William & Mary trains students to write, deliver and critically evaluate oral communication. From crucial training in public speaking, oral communication and presentation in professional settings, and debate to rhetoric and broadcasting, Speech courses offer students the opportunity to sharpen their public and interpersonal communication skills in a liberal arts setting.
  13. Spirit Shop and Bookstore
    The William & Mary Spirit Shop and Bookstore, operated by Barnes & Noble College Booksellers, is the university's retail location for textbooks, general books and William & Mary memorabilia.
  14. Sponsored Programs & Research Compliance System (SPARCS)
    SPARCS is an electronic research administration solution to manage all research activities at the university including protocol and compliance management, conflicts of interest, proposal preparation and submission, Sponsored Program award and funding management, and effort certification.
  15. Sponsored Programs, Office of
    The Office of Sponsored Programs serves the research mission of W&M by assisting faculty in the application for and management of external awards.
  16. Sports Medicine
    The Division of Sports Medicine is responsible for the health care of more than 500 student-athletes in 23 intercollegiate sports. The athletic training program focuses on the prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for all intercollegiate student-athletes.
  17. St Andrews William & Mary Joint Degree Programme
    The Joint Degree Programme between William & Mary and the University of St Andrews in Scotland is one of the few international undergraduate joint degrees offered with a U.S. university. Students complete two years at each university and earn a single diploma with the insignia of both.
  18. Staff Assembly
    The Staff Assembly is an organization that represents the interests of all staff of William & Mary. With the support of the Provost and the Board of Visitors, the Staff Assembly relays staff concerns, interests and issues to the appropriate channels.

    The Office of Strategic Cultural Partnerships leads engagement with key external partners and facilitates efforts to sustain and reinterpret William & Mary’s historical and cultural resources, increase the visibility and impact of the university's cultural projects and programs, and advance the priorities of these initiatives.

    Student Accessibility Services strives to foster student independence, to encourage self-determination, to emphasize empowerment and accommodation over limitation, and to create a comprehensive, accessible environment to ensure that individuals are viewed on the basis of contribution, not deficit.
  22. Student Accountability & Restorative Practices (formerly Community Values & Restorative Practices)
    The mission of Student Accountability & Restorative Practices is to educate students by providing compassionate, fair and equitable accountability through processes that provide students with agency and responsibility.
  23. Student Accounts
    The Student Accounts department is responsible for the assessment, billings and collection of tuition, fees, meal plans, housing and other university charges. The department is also responsible for the processing of student refunds from financial aid or other account overpayments.
  24. Student Affairs, Office of
    The office has primary responsibility and concern for student counseling, multicultural student services, services for disabled and commuting students, student rights and responsibilities, organizations and activities, student government, the student conduct system, the Sadler & Campus Centers, student residences, and student health needs.

    The Student Assembly (SA) of William & Mary is the student government organization and student union of the university, representing every social class and graduate school.

    In alliance with the William & Mary mission, the Center for Student Diversity (CSD) strives to foster inclusion, collaboration and relationship-building within our campus community.

    The departments of Student Engagement & Leadership include Community Engagement, Student Unions & Engagement, Student Leadership Development and Student Veteran Engagement.     The Student Health Center provides high-quality care and promotes health and healthy lifestyles through education and training.
  29. Student Insurance
    The Student Insurance office administers the process for full-time students to comply with W&M insurance requirements by providing links and instructions for the annual waiver or enrollment process. Information is also provided about the school-sponsored comprehensive Student Insurance Plan for those without adequate coverage.
  30. Student Leadership Development
    Student Leadership Development is committed to student involvement and the co-curricular life of William & Mary. They blend many areas of campus life including leadership, scheduling, and organizational and individual funding; programming, including AMP (Alma Mater Productions); and club and organization services.
  31. Student Organizations Directory (TribeLink)
    Student Leadership Development at William & Mary recognizes over 400 student clubs and organizations. With interests ranging from greek life to choir and a cappella groups there are numerous organizations to fit any student's interests.
  32. Student Orientation, New
    Orientation occurs immediately before the fall (August) and spring (January) semesters to introduce new students to many aspects of the university including student life, academic policies and the honor code. The goal of each orientation program is to make our students feel right at home from the moment they set foot on campus.

  34. Student Transition Engagement Programs
    Student Transition Engagement Programs (STEP) supports the holistic transition of students throughout their W&M experience through New Student Orientation and a three-phase (F₃YE) undergraduate pathway of initiatives, outreach and resources.

    Student Unions & Engagement (SUE) operates the Sadler Center and Campus Center, including student employment, scheduling, marketing design, student program board, and business and financial analysis. They offer educational, leadership and developmental programs and services to all members of the campus community including students, faculty, staff and external constituents.
  36. Student Veteran Engagement, Office of
    The Office of Student Veteran Engagement (OSVE) serves as a one-stop shop for military and veteran students to find information and resources, as well as a place for campus and community partners to connect with military and veteran students.
  37. Studio for Teaching & Learning Innovation
    The Studio for Teaching & Learning Innovation offers faculty, students and staff from across disciplines opportunities to collaborate with one another and learn about diverse modes of teaching and learning as well as new technologies.
  38. Study Abroad
    Study Abroad is a division of the Global Education Office at the Reves Center for International Studies. The Reves Center assists students with every stage of the study abroad process and, thanks to the generosity of private donors, awards many need- and merit-based scholarships each year. With our 30+ W&M-sponsored programs in 23 countries, and hundreds of additional programs from which students can choose, the opportunities for education abroad are endless.
  39. Summer Academic Sessions
    Each summer William & Mary offers many courses, primarily in Arts & Sciences, over the summer. Courses are taught online, in person at the main campus and through the Washington Center.

  42. Swem Library
    The Earl Gregg Swem Library supports and enhances teaching and research, and fosters intellectual curiosity, creativity and lifelong learning. It has a collection of more than 2 million books, journals, manuscripts, government documents and films.
