Leadership Positions

The GHRS Organizing Committee is made up of A&S graduate student volunteers, who take on the following roles: 

Co-Chairs: Work together to lead the committee and jointly ensure the success of the Graduate and Honors Research Symposium. This includes recruiting other committee members, leading committee meetings, selecting graduate symposium participants, and assembling materials to make sure the conference runs smoothly. They are also responsible for creating the online program. 

Technology Coordinator: Takes the lead on organizing and providing support for audio-visual needs during the conference, including pre-loading presentations onto laptops and providing day-of A/V support. 

Volunteer Coordinator: Takes the lead to recruit, organize, and manage the event volunteers. Duties include recruiting volunteers from graduate students and faculty, assigning volunteer tasks, and creating volunteer schedules.

Communications Chair: Collaborates with committee to develop messaging for graduate student participants and advertising for the event, including fliers, email messages, and other marketing materials. 

Committee Members at Large: Participate in meetings, helping to screen abstract submissions, sort presenters into panels, recruit volunteers, and manage day-of tasks to keep the conference running smoothly.
