Recognizing Exemplary Community Engagement
The Office of Community Engagement recognizes students, faculty, and community partners for their active citizenship and exemplary community engagement through several awards throughout the year.
Nominations are welcome from our community for the President's Award for Service to the Community (awarded at Convocation) in late spring and early summer, for the James Monroe Prize in Civic Leadership (awarded at Charter Day celebrations) in October, and for the Celebration of Active Citizenship (awarded in April) in February and March.
Please note that previous winners for either the James Monroe Prize or the President’s Award for Service to the Community will not be considered for the other award.
