She holds a PhD in Science & Technology Studies from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, MS and BA degrees in Social and Cultural Anthropology from Universidad Complutense Madrid, an MS in Sexology. Sexual Education and Counselingfrom Universidad de Alcala, an MS in Social and Cultural Anthropology from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and a BA in Social Work from UNED Madrid.

Professor Dicenta has conducted fieldwork in Tierra del Fuego (Austral Patagonia), where she examined the invasion of beavers and the long-lasting effects of settler-colonialism, the introduction of species, and the whitening of nature and society. By studying the politics involved in producing knowledges about nature across time, disciplines, and communities, she seeks to advance forms of conservation that integrate social, intergenerational, and interspecies reparation.
