Zarielle Anthony is from Norfolk, Virginia and is a senior at the College of William & Mary majoring in Kinesiology. She currently works at the Studio for Teaching and Learning Innovation (STLI) as a student partner doing academic consulting and social media marketing. In her free time, she creates content and works with brands as a social media influencer, serves as Editor-in-Chief of ROCKET Magazine, and enjoys sisterhood and serving her community as a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Joseph Core

Joseph is a junior studying finance with a concentration in management and organizational leadership. He is from Arlington, Virginia and enjoys spending time with his dog and watching Premier League. Outside of the classroom he is a member of the Men's Soccer Team and greek life. What he enjoys most about William & Mary is the welcoming environment and unwavering support from the faculty, staff, and his peers. He is looking forward to Dr. Wagner's seminar for its incorporation of real world experiences in the DC-Metro area and the opportunity to collaborate with fellow William & Mary students.

Jada Jones

Jada is a second-year student at the college of William & Mary. She is a Business Analytics Major with a data science emphasis, and she intends to complement her degree with a second major in International Relations. She spent this summer conducting research on Decolonizing Service Learning in Mental-Health Fields and studying Linguistics and Africana studies in Cape Town, South Africa. She intends to combine her love for global history and interest in international markets for business, entertainment, and educational purposes in the future.

Amaya Jones is a Posse Scholar at William & Mary studying Marketing and Business Analytics. She dreams of utilizing her cross-sectional studies to conduct meaningful consumer analysis that produces a competitive edge for small, minority-owned businesses and creates equality in the marketplace. At W&M, she is most proud of her role as Lead Facilitator of Brown Table Talk, a Center of Student Diversity initiative, in which she helps create a safe space for women-identifying people of color to discuss taboo topics. Outside of her studies, she is an entrepreneur! She owns and operates her own baking business entitled, CakesbyRenaí.

Lily Saunders is a senior at the Mason School of Business majoring in Marketing with a concentration in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. While at William & Mary Lily is also a student athlete on the women's field hockey team. Being a student athlete is a major part of her W&M experience. It has helped her gain leadership and interpersonal skills she hopes to carry with her in the business world. She also participates in Women's in Business and attends the various events thrown throughout the year.

Marie Thomas-Sindeh

Marie Thomas-Sindeh is a Junior from Northern Virginia. She is majoring in International Relations with a minor in Data and Public Health. Marie is a W&M Scholar and an Undersecretary of Finance within Student Assembly on campus. She has successfully completed a study abroad program focused on human rights and an internship centered on the rights of incarcerated individuals. In her free time, Marie enjoys dancing, traveling, and spending time with friends. She is very excited to be a part of the D.C. Winter Seminars.

Kate is currently a junior studying Kinesiology at the university. Originally from outside of Boston, Massachusetts, she is excited about exploring a new city while taking a deep dive into Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion during her time in Washington, D.C. On campus, she is on the executive board of the W&M Club Rowing Team, involved in Public Health Club, and Pineapple Kids Tutoring. In her free time, she enjoys baking, listening to music, and going out to eat with friends (and always taking restaurant recommendations)!

Shery Waheed

Shehryar is a junior studying marketing at William & Mary. He was born and raised in Pakistan and came to the United States of America in 2019. He struggled with language, and cultural differences made adjusting to the new society even harder. He left his friends and family for the sake of a bright future, and the pandemic worsened things. Nevertheless, he worked hard during high school and graduated with a GPA of 3.9, and was awarded an NMSI Stem Star award with a $500 scholarship. He continued to work hard in community college and managed to get an associate degree in one year. He is working hard and trying to keep up the same momentum so he can fulfill the ambitions that he is striving for.

Bruce Xiao is a sophomore from Beijing, China. He hasn't declared his majors yet, but he possesses great interests in the Business School and Sociology. He works as a Student Assistant for Swem Library's Circulation Desk. He absolutely enjoys playing video games and board games whenever he finds some time. Also, he has played the piano for 15 years now.

Woojin Yoon is a junior from Seoul, South Korea, who is majoring in English and minoring in psychology. As a long-time lover of literature, she wants to enter the publishing industry after graduation. However, she knows that the publishing industry is predominantly white and male — hence her interest in the Identity, Power, and Profit DC Winter Seminar. She wants to emphasize the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion in literature without making the action seem capitalistic and performative. On campus, Woojin is the current Vice President for the Filipino American Student Association, a prose editor for The William & Mary Review, and a member of Shakespeare in the Dark. You can also see her working at Union Central. In her free time, Woojin indulges in her guilty pleasures: reading romance novels and rewatching sitcoms (especially New Girl).

Zupeng Zeng

Zupeng is a sophomore from China majoring in Data Science and planning to minor in Sociology or Gender Study. Zupeng participated in the Eviction Crisis Summer Research through court observation and database establishment. Zupeng also devoted himself to compiling local chronicles for his hometown through toponymy study. At William & Mary, he became the captain of the Badminton Club in his freshman year. In addition, he used to as a part-time bartender back in China but has to farewell alcohol temporarily due to the age restriction. Now he is looking forward to joining the winter discussion of identity empowerment.

Leona is a sophomore studying Business Analytics and Japanese at William and Mary. On campus she is an international student panelist and works in Swem library as a student assistant. In her free time, Leona loves watching movies and animations. She is also an active member of Shotokan Karate club in W&M.
