Bio
Pierce Monahan is an M.A. student in History at William & Mary. His research interests focus on the emergence of "American exceptionalism" within the context of the United States' earliest relations in the Atlantic World—particularly, the Barbary Wars.

Pierce graduated summa cum laude from UCLA in 2021, with Bachelor's degrees in History and Political Science. He hopes to apply his background in international relations to his research at William & Mary. Pierce currently works as an Editorial Apprentice at the Omohundro Institute of Early American History & Culture.
