How do I get involved with SA?

The best way to get involved is to attend SA programs, activities, and meetings. Follow the SA Facebook and Instagram for more information about upcoming events. If you'd like to be actively involved with campus life, join one of the many active recognized student organizations.

How do I join SA?

Any student at William & Mary is eligible to run for election to SA as long as they meet the eligibility requirements. To view the requirements in detail, see the elections page.

Why should I join SA?

Student government is an excellent leadership training experience, which makes it a great addition to any academic or professional resume. Being a member of the William & Mary Student Assembly is a great opportunity to meet new people and make long lasting impacts on the college. 

What does SA do?

Student Assembly represents and advocates for the interests of the William & Mary student body. Whether it is allocating a roughly $700,000 budget to student organizations, ensuring that campus policies remain fair and student-friendly, advocating for student rights, or establishing a student presence in both the City of Williamsburg and in college administration, the SA is here to serve the student body.

What programs does SA implement? 

Some of the many initiates and projects that SA has been involved in include the following:

  • The Student's Rights Initiative
  • Installing more compost bins
  • Pass/Fail Referendum
How do organizations get funding from SA?
