Students

Students are a critical part of the history of W&M women and celebrating 100 years of coeducation. Throughout the year students were encouraged to plan events and participate in celebration opportunities.

Existing student events such as convocation and concerts included a focus on the anniversary. New opportunities like a campus-wide scavenger hunt and mentored research fellowships allowed students to learn more about women at William & Mary. Students and student organizations were also encouraged to add their own contributions to the year, such as spotlighting women in their organization, hosting events to honor their alumnae or facilitating conversations about gender equity. Grant funding and promotional materials were made available to students developing these opportunities.
