Taste of Soul

Join the Center for Student Diversity, the African Cultural Society, and Black Student Organization as we celebrate the start of Black History Month with “A Taste of Soul”, an exploration and taste of food from the African, Caribbean, and African-American diaspora.

Social Justice by Faith Trip: Baltimore, MD 
Date: Saturday, February 4th
Time: All Day
Location: Baltimore, MD

Description: Take a field trip to Baltimore to visit the National Great Blacks in Wax Museum featuring prominent African-American and other Black historical figures. Stop two will include lunch and the Reginald F. Lewis Museum of Maryland African American History & Culture.

Black Expo
Date: Saturday, February 11th

Description: The Black Student Organization (BS0), E.S.S.E.N.C.E. Women of Color, and the Center for Student Diversity will host the 4th annual Black Expo featuring Black business owners who engage in everything from leadership and development, to art, pottery, apparel, and more.

Brown Table Talk

What to Do if Stopped By Police

Description: Do flashing lights make you anxious or fearful? Unfortunately, due to the national climate, this is true for many people. Knowing your rights can help you identify situations of discrimination and the abuse of power. Facilitated by Officer Isaiah Johnson of the W&M Police Department.

Diaspora Wars

Sankofa Gala

A culminating celebration of BHM hosted annually by Student Assembly. We embrace Sankofa: looking back at the past in order to move forward to continue to live, create and commemorate African-American history. This year's theme is " Masquerade". Free to all W&M students and guests!
