Leadership Development
Students are strongly encouraged to participate in various leadership development programs throughout their time at the University. FGLI students have unique opportunities to consider their leadership skills through various programs, including the FGLI recognized student organization, programs in the Office of First Year Experience and the Office of Student Leadership Development.
Courageous Leadership is a one-day annual conference is designed exclusively for FGLI students. At the conference students are provided:
Access to and connections with faculty and staff
A more in-depth understanding of their values and how they shape them as a leader
A resource for personalized career development
Focus Areas Include:
• Authenticity and Vulnerability
• Courageous Leadership
• Leadership in Action
The conference takes place in partnership with the FGLI recognized student organization.
FGLI students are also asked to serve as lead facilitators for the Courageous Leadership Institute for high school students which takes place online, in four week sessions, throughout the academic year.
