General Housing Information
Pictures of On-Campus Housing
Your housing contract is a legally binding document and signing the contract obligates a student to reside in W&M housing for the length of the contract. You should read the housing contract carefully before committing to campus housing for the entire academic year.
On-campus housing is rented by room and rates vary. Rent includes furniture and utilities. Laundry facilities are also available for a per load fee.
Residence Life does not offer on-campus storage and recommends students to use local storage companies.
Housing during University Breaks
Fall and Spring Break
All residence halls usually remain open for fall break and spring break. Be sure to check the university's academic calendar and with Residence Life for the most up to date information.
All residence halls usually remain open during the Thanksgiving break in November. Be sure to check the university's academic calendar and with Residence Life for the most up to date information.
The residence halls, with the exception of some designated halls (be sure to check with Residence Life for the most up to date information), are not open for occupancy during the longer winter break. W&M undergraduate residence halls usually close after exams. Students are encouraged to plan ahead and make alternative arrangements during semester breaks. See short-term housing for options. If you need assistance locating housing over winter break, please contact ISSP.
