Urban Education: Policy, Practice and Leadership

This reading, discussion and experiential based course is designed to provide students with an introduction to urban education. This course is meant to prepare possible teachers and education researchers/policy makers with an understanding of the complexities and practicalities of public urban education. Included in this exploration of schooling in the United States are varying conceptions on the purposes of education and public schools.
