Message to W&M colleagues
William & Mary Provost Peggy Agouris sent the following message to the campus community Aug. 13, 2019. - Ed.
Dear Colleagues:
It has been just over a month since I arrived on campus, and I want to thank you all for the warm welcome you have extended to me and my family.
As I settle in and become familiar with the institution, its people and my new duties, I am even more certain that William & Mary is where I want to be, and I am thrilled to be joining the university as W&M's sixth provost.
In the past weeks, I have met some of you, and I look forward to meeting many more in the coming weeks and months. Together we will endeavor – and I am sure, succeed – at enhancing the learning of our extraordinary students, strengthening our remarkable university, and contributing in important and lasting ways to our community and the wider world. Transparency, engagement, and wellness, combined with groundbreaking, whole-institution academic initiatives, will connect us and keep us focused and energized. We will work hard together, no doubt. But I am equally sure we will find a lot of joy and fun in that process.
