Summer in Palungo.

The Ecuador study abroad program is an intensive and immersive three-week program located just outside of Quito, Ecuador on a small, family-owned and operated organic farm.  The farm, named Nahual,  is a working dairy and vegetable farm centered on the principles of permaculture and focused around farming practices that are entirely sustainable and ecological. Participants in the program will live on the farm and earn six W&M credits via two intensive courses, one a W&M taught course on Language for Cultural Immersion, and a second course on Permaculture and Sustainability taught by Nahual staff.  Students will participate actively in farm life by engaging in daily farm activities as well as three weekend excursions to visit other ongoing permaculture projects in Ecuador. Students do not need to be fluent in Spanish and all majors are welcome to apply.
