The Hispanic Studies curriculum includes studies of Spanish, Latin American and U.S. Latino/a cultural production. We don't limit ourselves to the traditional literature and language curriculum. Fluency is best gained when you take a look at a wide variety of cultural products: literature, film, art, popular culture and journalism.
We use these works to explore significant events and cultural issues. You will gain understanding not only of the Spanish language, but of Hispanic cultures and their influence on the world.
Our undergraduate program includes language instruction at every level. You may major or minor in Hispanic Studies.
To broaden face-to-face cultural understanding, we encourage you to study abroad. Our Hispanic House gives you the chance to live and practice speaking with other students studying Spanish.
