Advising

We are happy to discuss your future goals and how coursework or a degree in Kinesiology might help you reach them.

Pre-Major Advising

The Office of Academic Advising assigns all incoming freshman and transfer students a pre-major advisor. Not everyone considering a major in Kinesiology, or a career in a health-related field, gets one of our faculty as their pre-major advisor. If this is the case, you may arrange a meeting with any of the Kinesiology faculty to discuss your professional interests and how we can help you prepare for your next step toward your career.

Major Advising

Before you declare your major, you will select one of our faculty to serve as your major advisor. Any full-time faculty member may serve as your major advisor.

Faculty Areas of Interest:
Allied Health (Athletic training, Nursing, Occupational therapy, Physical therapy, Physician Assistant): [[enburnet, Evie Burnet]], [[aeeverhardt, Ashleigh Queen]], and [[rlooft, Robin Looft-Wilson]]
Nutrition: [[zsconrad, Zach Conrad]], and [[rlooft, Robin Looft-Wilson]]
Public Health: [[cbdolan, Carrie Dolan]], [[iobasanjo, Iyabo Obasanjo]], and [[seirwi, Sarah Menefee]]
Pre-Med & Physiology: [[mbharr, Brennan Harris]], [[rlooft, Robin Looft-Wilson]], and [[aeeverhardt, Ashleigh Queen]]

Pre-Professional Advising

The different graduate programs that train our health-care professionals vary in what they expect from their applicants. Most will accept students that graduate with any major, but do expect applicants to have taken certain courses. Our pre-professional advisors can help plan for pre-professional school and navigate the admission process.
