How to Apply for a Job
- Search TribeCareers for jobs that interest you.
- Contact the department to express your interest in the position. Priority is given to work-study students receiving Federal Work-Study as part of your financial aid package. Be sure to indicate that when discussing possible employment.
- Some of the larger campus employers have scheduled employment sessions and offer on-site interviews. Be prepared to complete an application at the session and have your class schedule available.
- Submit your application and complete an interview with the hiring department. If selected for a position, provide necessary employment eligibility documentation.
How to Get on Payroll
The following forms must be completed on the first day of employment. Most forms are accessed using Workday. To log in, visit myW&M and select the Workday icon, then review your assigned tasks. Access to Workday will become available once your hiring has been finalized by Financial Aid.
- Employment Eligibility Verification Form (I-9) - Students may not work until the I-9 has been completed. A passport, social security card or birth certificate along with a driver's license are acceptable forms of identification for the I-9. If you plan to work on campus, please bring originals with you.
- Federal Tax Form (W-4)
- Virginia Tax Form (VA-4)
- Direct Deposit
Complete Your Timesheet
William & Mary employees are expected to submit their timesheets online in Workday. Employees can access the system by choosing Time from the Workday Menu.
