Catherine Brix, Assistant Teacher Professor of Modern Languages and Literatures, earned her Ph.D. in Spanish from the University of Notre Dame. Professor Brix uses interdisciplinary methodologies from political theory, gender studies, and peace studies and focuses on intersections of literature, art, and human rights issues to specialize in contemporary Latin American literature and cultural studies, particularly Southern Cone testimonial literature from the Dirty War. Her teaching assignments will include Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced Spanish language and La imaginación cultural for Hispanic Studies.
