Campus Safety Message
The following message was sent to the campus community on Sept. 2, 2019, at 1:18 p.m. - Ed.
Dear William & Mary community,
I am writing to update you on this weekend’s incident in which a handgun was brought into a residence hall by a person unaffiliated with the university.
William & Mary Police have identified the people involved, and they have been banned from all university property.

The following message was sent to the campus community on Sept. 1, 2019, at 6:32 a.m. - Ed.
Dear William & Mary Community,
Early this morning, several males believed to be unaffiliated with the university were visiting students in Chandler Hall on campus. After being asked to leave, one of the males showed a student a handgun, and then all subjects left the area voluntarily on foot. Weapon was not brandished and no threats were made. William & Mary Police conducted a campus wide search, and all of the males are believed to have left the area. WMPD believes they have identified the males involved and continues to look into the circumstances of this situation.
