Dear William & Mary community,

The university will reopen Saturday, Jan. 6 at 10 a.m. including normal operation Monday, Jan. 8.

The W&M Women's Basketball game scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 7 will take place.

Facilities Management personnel are doing an excellent job clearing primary routes and access points. But freezing temperatures are still a factor so anyone coming to campus should still exercise caution and stay to those primary routes and access points.

Weather: University Closing

January 4, 2018, 2:33 pm

Dear William & Mary community,

The university will remain closed Friday, Jan. 5, due to hazardous conditions caused by more than seven inches of snow that fell in the Williamsburg area overnight and through this morning. Freezing temperatures and high winds are expected to continue hampering efforts to clear local roads.

All university events on Friday are canceled, including tomorrow night's W&M Women's Basketball game against Drexel, which will be rescheduled for Tuesday at 6 p.m. The Emergency Management Team will continue to monitor conditions and make a decision tomorrow about planned weekend activities.

Facilities Management personnel are working to clear and treat parking lots, pathways and roads. To help facilitate the clearing process, only essential personnel and those already authorized to be in residence halls should be on campus.

Weather: University Closing

January 3, 2018, 1:19 pm

Dear William & Mary community,

Williamsburg is under a Winter Storm Warning from 7 p.m. this evening to 1 p.m. Thursday. The National Weather Service is predicting up to six inches of snow for the Williamsburg area.

Given that forecast, William & Mary will be closed as of 5 p.m. Wednesday and remain closed through Thursday, Jan. 4. Essential personnel should check with their supervisors for reporting times. The Emergency Management Team will monitor conditions on campus throughout the storm and make a decision tomorrow about the university's operating status on Friday based on that assessment.

Facilities Management personnel will work diligently to clear and treat parking lots, pathways and roads. However, freezing or near freezing temperatures forecast for Thursday will make clearing the snow challenging. To help facilitate the clearing process, only essential personnel and those already authorized to be in residence halls should be on campus.

For the latest information on local bus lines, please visit the Williamsburg Area Transit Authority's (WATA) website at http://www.gowata.org/ or the WATA Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/WilliamsburgAreaTransitAuthority/.
