Summer Research Students 2017

Each year Applied Science hosts a summer internship for top-performing students in the life sciences from Williamsburg high schools: Lafayette, Jamestown, and Warhill. The program is hosted by Professor Christopher A. Del Negro who started the internship with the help of Professor Mark K. Hinders in 2009. The students receive hands-on training in neuroscience experimentation, as well as classroom instruction in neurobiology from Ph.D. students in Dr. Del Negro's laboratory. Applied Science aims to build stronger ties to the local community of educators and scholars, as well as provide local students with practical research training experiences that enhance their preparedness for university science education.
