Cornelia Thompson

Bio

Nina graduated from Vassar College in 2011 with a degree in History and a Geography correlate.  For her undergraduate thesis, she wrote about the development of effective surgical anesthesia in the mid-nineteenth century and the impact it had on surgery as a respected scientific field. She is now in the MA/PhD program and look to research European treatment of disaster in the Atlantic world. Specifically, she is curious about failed colonies and the European responses to mass casualty in an unfamiliar environment. Nina grew up near Boston, Massachusetts and spent the two years after college there as well, enjoying the cold weather and impressive museums.
