Storm 845: New Phosphorimager and Gel Scanner
The Biology Department has regained its phosphorimaging capabilities with a new Storm 845 unit! The unit is located on the second floor of the Integrated Science Center (ISC), room 2086. This space has been set up by Matt Wawersik as a common equipment room and seemed the perfect home for the Storm. Our Storm is also outfitted with a blue diode laser, so in addition to phosphorimaging, it can also do fluorescence scanning with any blue-excitation or green-emission techniques (SYBR staining, GFP, etc.).
