On-Campus Interviews

Put your personality into your application... literally.

Paper applications are two-dimensional. On-campus interviews allow you the opportunity to make your application three-dimensional. Interviews are offered in the summer for rising high school seniors and in the fall for current high school seniors. The interview is an optional component to the application, and the absence of an interview will in no way be a disadvantage in the application process.

Fall Interviews for the Class of 2024 are officially booked.

Summer Interview Schedule

Interviews are offered weekdays beginning June 17 and continuing through August 16 (with the exception of July 4 for the 4th of July holiday).

Interviews are offered at 9:00am, 10:00am, 11:00am, 12:00pm, 1:00pm, 2:00pm, 3:00pm and 4:00pm.

We encourage those also participating in the 10:00am information session and tour to register for a 9:00am, 12:00pm or 1:00pm interview. The 10:00am interview is also an option as it conflicts only with the information session but not the tour. Please register separately for an Information Session & Tour.

Fall Interview Schedule

Registration for fall interviews will be available September 1. Fall interviews will be offered mid-September through mid-November on a limited basis both on weekdays and select Saturday mornings.

Fall interview appointments are extremely limited. We encourage students to interview during the summer when more appointments are available. All students who wish to interview and to apply Early Decision I should interview prior to the November 1 application deadline.

If you do not receive an email confirmation within a day, the online registration process may not have completed and you are not registered for an interview. If this is the case, please email [[kcmaccagnan, Senior Assistant Dean Kate Perry]] or call us at 757-221-4223 for assistance.

  • Unfortunately, for the Class of 2024, interviews are officially full for the rest of the semester. If you were not able to schedule an interview, that is okay. They are a completely optional portion of the application process that only 15% of applicants complete. Another way to add extra context to your application and your story would be completing William & Mary’s optional essay – another 500 words where we get to know more about you!
  • For the Class of 2025, interviews will begin next summer in June of 2020.
Interview Waitlist Protocol

Interviews are assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis. If a particular interview appointment is full, you will have the option of adding yourself to the event waitlist. As cancellations arise, those on the waitlist will be automatically added to the appointment for which they are currently on the waitlist. An automated email will be sent to notify you that you have been removed from the waitlist and confirmed for the appointment.

"I believe this opportunity allowed me to articulate qualities about myself that a paper application just cannot convey. This experience really allowed me to add something substantive to my application and allowed me to get a more intimate feel for the College. The interviewer answered all of my questions and really allowed me to see a more personal side of William & Mary!"      -Summer Interviewee

"Thank you very much for offering me the opportunity to interview. I feel like I really made a contribution to my application. Meeting with a current student was an added bonus. I feel like I learned so much about this university and its students. The whole experience was superb!"   -Summer Interviewee
