Elementary School Students
Saturday/Summer Enrichment Program
Through the Center for Gifted Education, William & Mary operates one of the nation's top programs for gifted and uniquely talented students. The Saturday/Summer Enrichment Program is designed to challenge the advanced student in a way that's not possible in a conventional classroom.
Project M2
Project M2 brought together math and art through instructional tools aimed at promoting children’s creativity while increasing their interest in math. During the school year, the class worked on problem-solving then over the summer, they applied what they learned through painting a mural.
Middle School Students
Camp Ignite
Camp Ignite is part of the William & Mary Talent Search Program. This residential program involves rising 7-9th grade students living on campus and attending classes on topics including ecosystems, anatomy & physiology, forensic science (crime scene investigation), film studies and scientific explorations.
Camp Launch
Camp Launch is a residential program for gifted 7th- and 8th-grade students from all socioeconomic levels. Students take courses in STEM, writing and professional development.
Eastern Virginia Writing Project (EVWP) Youth Writing Camp
The EVWP Youth Writing Camp is a week-long summer writing camp that teaches students ages 10-13 how to become an author and artist.

Through the Center for Gifted Education, William & Mary operates one of the nation's top programs for gifted and uniquely talented students. The Saturday/Summer Enrichment Program is designed to challenge the advanced student in a way that's not possible in a conventional classroom.

Our programs — which range from psychology, venture capital and medicine — provide dynamic and flexible online learning, mentorship opportunities and a Certificate of Completion, which will be a mark of distinction in college applications.

Camp Eager
Camp Eager includes rising third-graders through rising high school seniors who have an interest in STEM. Campers have taken part in coding, robotics, rocket building and drones.
Rising High School First-Year Students
Climate Education for a Changing Bay (CECB)
The CECB program integrates educational experiences about the watershed into the high school curriculum starting in ninth grade earth science classes. Students taking earth science courses will gain real world skills through in field experiences and an understanding on the local impacts of climate change.
Cooke Young Scholars Program
The Optimist Project is part of the Cooke Young Scholars Program. Rising high school first-year students participate in a two-week camp help on campus with a three-day trip to Washington, D.C. with a focus on growing skills in leadership, civil discourse and critical thinking.

A mix of high school and undergraduate students make up the Bonnie Sue Internship Program. During the summer, they assist faculty and staff with their ongoing research projects on topics including fish, squid and crabs.
Camp Orbit
Camp Orbit, the extension of Camp Launch, has students performing research in a lab, participating in workshops on how to apply and transition to college, attending STEM-related field trips and handing out with current W&M college students.
Jefferson Lab/VIMS Summer Residential Governor's School
The Jefferson Lab/VIMS Summer Residential Governor’s School assigns students to a research mentor at the Jefferson Lab in Newport News and the Virginia Institute of Marine Science in Gloucester. Students participate in actual research projects, working with professional research scientists and graduate students, either one-on-one or in small teams.
