Catherine Brix, Visiting Assistant Professor of Modern Languages and Literatures, obtained her Ph.D. in Spanish from the University of Notre Dame. She specializes in contemporary Latin American literature and cultural studies, particularly Southern Cone testimonial literature from the Dirty War. In her research she applies interdisciplinary methodologies from political theory, gender studies, and peace studies to focus on the intersections of literature, art, and human rights issues.
