Continuance Requirements for Full-time Transfer Students

Transfer Students as well as freshmen begin at William & Mary under the Continuance Standards for semester 1 in the table below.

You cannot meet any of these Continuance Standards with Transfer, Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) credits. Only W&M credits count, although, as specified by regulations in the Catalog, these credits may count toward the 120 credits required for graduation and toward the general education and concentration requirements.

Transfer students and freshmen begin at the first semester in the list above. An unclassified student enrolled fall 1999 or later for 12 or more academic hours must meet the Continuance Standards applicable to the regularly enrolled student.You cannot meet any of these Continuance Standards with Transfer, Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) credits. Only W&M credits count, although, as specified by regulations in the Catalog, these credits may count toward the 120 credits required for graduation and toward the general education and concentration requirements.

If your GPA falls below 2.0 during any semester, you will receive a warning letter from the Dean of Students Office. If your academic work falls below the minimum GPA and/or earned credit Continuance Standards, you will be on probation for the following semester.
