Virginia state legislature recognizes 300th anniversary of the Brafferton building at William & Mary
W&M marked Indigenous People's Day 2023 on Monday, October 9th in a moving presentation outside the Brafferton building. Senator Monty Mason and Delegate Amanda Batten presented our university with a Resolution from the General Assembly honoring the students of the Brafferton Indian School and their descendants, and commemorating the history and culture of Indigenous people. President Katherine A. Rowe and student leaders of the American Indian Student Association accepted the award. The resolution is Virginia Senate Joint Resolution 401.
