Recruiting Events

The Office of Career Development & Professional Engagement manages a variety of large-scale recruiting events to provide opportunities for students and employers to meet each other. Employers and recruiters are integral to these events and are encouraged to register.

 Fall Fairs 2023
On-Campus Student Employment Fair

Date: August 31, 2023 | 9 - 11 a.m.
Location: Sadler Center Chesapeake A
The On-Campus Student Employment Fair allows William & Mary departments to recruit students for their open on-campus student employment positions. The fair is open to all students regardless of Federal Work-Study status. 

Career Diversity Expo

Date: September 22, 2023 | 10 - 11:30 a.m.
Location: Sadler Center Chesapeake & Tidewater

The Career Diversity Expo offers distinct ways for students and employers to engage. Students have the chance to ask meaningful questions about company culture and how their respective companies are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.  During their conversations, students glean information about the organization’s current and upcoming internships and full-time positions. This event is limited to a smaller number of employers and focuses on the opportunity for employers and students of diverse backgrounds to network and learn about each other.

Meet the Firms 

Date: September 15, 2023 | 12 - 4 p.m.
Location: Raymond A. Mason School of Business
This event focuses on the career fields of consulting and accounting and includes an industry-specific career fair and panels. While the event is focused on accounting and consulting careers, it is not limited by major or class year and all students interested in the fields are welcome to attend. It is typically held at the Mason School of Business.

Career & Internship Fair 

Date: September 22, 2023 | 12 - 4 p.m.
Location: Sadler Center Chesapeake & Tidewater

The fair is an excellent way for companies and organizations to meet students at the beginning of the recruiting cycle, get their brand name out on campus, speak with interested students of all class years and majors, and generate interest in internships and full-time positions. We encourage employers from all industries to attend this event.

Graduate & Professional School Fair

Date: September 29, 2023 | 12 - 2 p.m.
Location: Sadler Center Chesapeake & Tidewater

This fair, open to students from all majors and class years, as well as alumni, is designed for admissions representatives from graduate school programs to recruit prospective students for their schools/programs. This event is not intended to address employers' hiring needs, but for graduate schools recruiting students for their programs.

Spring Fairs 2024
Liberal Arts Undergrad Network for Colleges and Hiring (LAUNCH)  

A consortium of seven schools (William & Mary, Brown University, Connecticut College, Cornell University, Swarthmore College, Trinity College, and Union College) plans an annual Interview Day that is held in midtown Manhattan. This event allows employers to recruit and interview students for internships and full-time job opportunities. It's a convenient way to hire top-notch students without having to travel to Williamsburg. Students must be from one of the member schools in order to participate.

On-Campus Student Employment Fair  
The On-Campus Student Employment Fair allows William & Mary departments to recruit students for their open on-campus student employment positions. The fair is open to all students regardless of Federal Work-Study status. 
K-12 Education Recruitment Day

This event allows school districts to have one on one conversations with students and degreed alumni who are seeking employment in a K-12 school setting. This event is not a traditional fair -- recruiters should plan to spend the majority of the day having individual conversations with interested candidates.

Georgetown University's Government, Education, & Non-Profit Career Fair 

A consortium of schools (William & Mary, American University, Marxe School of Public and International Affairs - Baruch College, Brown University, Carnegie Mellon University's Heinz College, Duke University, Georgetown University, Harvard University's Harvard College, NYU, University of Virginia, University of Richmond, Swarthmore College, and Yale University) plans an annual career expo that is held at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. This event allows employers from a wide range of fields in the government, education, and non-profit sectors to market their internships and full-time job opportunities to students and degreed alumni from the consortium schools.  

Event Cancellation and Refund Policies
Cancellation & Inclement Weather Policy

If the university is open by 9 am, the event will run as scheduled. If you do not show up on the date of your confirmed visit, and the event runs as scheduled, refunds will not be given. 

If the event has already begun, but is less than 2 hours in, and the university closes, the registration fee will be refunded at 50%. If the university closes more than 2 hours into the event, the registration fee will be prorated and a refund will be issued.

In the event that the university closes at least 12 hours prior to the event, the event will be cancelled. Registered employers will be provided an option to either apply registration to an alternate or rescheduled event OR a full refund.

*We encourage you to monitor the cancellation/delay information prior to and on the day of your scheduled visit by visiting the Provost's general inclement weather page. 

*We will also email the primary registration contact in TribeCareers if the university implements a delay and/or closing once we are aware of the university’s plan. In the event that the fair is postponed or cancelled, you will receive additional communication regarding the logistics for rescheduling, refunds, or other information.

*In the event you need to cancel your registration due to non-weather-related circumstances, cancellations must be received in writing by emailing hirethetribe@wm.edu on or before the last day to register for the event to receive a full refund.

Refund Policy

In the event your organization needs to cancel your registration, please email your cancellation to [[hirethetribe]] at least two weeks in advance of the event date. Cancellations recieved less than two weeks of the event date will not be refunded.
