DNCE to perform at William & Mary

Platinum-selling music group DNCE will perform William & Mary’s 2018 spring concert April 19. DRAM, a rapper and hip-hop artist who grew up in Hampton, Virginia, will be the opener.

Sponsored by Alma Mater Productions and the W&M Student Assembly, the concert will be held in Kaplan Arena at 8 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.

General admission tickets are $15. Floor tickets are $25 for students and $30 to the general public. An exclusive presale for students begins March 19 at 8:30 a.m., and tickets will be available to the public starting at 8:30 a.m. on March 21. Tickets can be purchased at the Kaplan Arena box office or online through Tribe Athletics.

DNCE rose to fame in the summer of 2015, the same year the group formed, with the release of “Cake by the Ocean,” which became one of the most played songs of the year. They are also known for such hits as “Toothbrush” and “Body Moves.” The band won “Best PUSH Artist” at the 2016 MTV European Music Awards and “Best New Artist” at 2017’s MTV Music Awards. They recently released the single “Kissing Strangers” with Nicki Minaj.

DRAM released the mixtape #1EPICSummer in 2014, which contained the hit “Cha Cha.” His debut album, Big Baby D.R.A.M., was released in 2016 and featured “Broccoli,” which hit number one on both Billboard’s top rap songs chart and the Rhythmic radio charts.
