FBI Director Mueller addresses post 9/11 world

Robert S. MuellerThe Thomas Jefferson Program in Public Policy hosted a campus lecture Oct. 31 by  FBI Director Robert S. Mueller. While on campus, Mueller met with students in both the public policy and government programs at the college. Mueller, who took the helm at the FBI just one week prior to the attacks at the World Trade Center and Pentagon in 2001, addressed the post 9/11 world at the FBI.

He spoke to an audience of more than 100 campus and community members in Ewell Hall. Mueller, who is just the sixth director of the FBI, received his undergraduate degree from Princeton University and received his law degree from the University of Virginia.

Prior to joining the FBI, he was a federal prosecutor. He also served in the Marines during the Vietnam War.

While on campus, Mueller encouraged students, regardless of background or degree, to consider a career in the FBI. As director, Mueller oversees the country's largest law enforcement agency at more than 30,000 people.
