Graduation 2011

Prof. Dickter and Ivo Gyurovski

Congratulations William and Mary Class of 2011! This year, the Psychology Department awarded 148 undergraduate degrees and 8 master's degrees. We are extremely proud of our graduates, and along with their families and friends, we all cheered for them at graduation.

Engin Ege and Prof. Dallaire

This is an accomplished group of scholars, a number of whom received special awards and recognition at this year’s graduation ceremony. For instance, Ivo Gyurovski, a 2011 graduate of our master's program, received the Arts & Sciences Distinguished Thesis Award in the Social Sciences. Notable undergraduate award winners include Engin Ege, who received the Stanley B. Williams Award given to an outstanding, well-rounded psychology student, and Jamie Hershaw, who received the Alumni Association’s Award for Outstanding Psychology Research. See a full list (pdf) of award winners and graduates here.

Jamie Hershaw and Prof. KieffaberOur graduates are now heading out to conquer new challenges. Several students are going on to Ph.D. programs in counseling, community studies, and social psychology at the University of Florida, Rutgers, Clemson, and University of Chicago, just to name a few. Many undergraduate students are going on to pursue master's degrees in Social and Organizational Psychology, in Education, and Health Policy; other students have been accepted into law and medical schools. Still other students will be serving in the Peace Corps or Teach for America. Whatever they do, wherever they go, they will be building on the excellent foundation laid here in the Psychology Department of the College of William and Mary.  Go Tribe!
