This award is designed to acknowledge an individual or group for their unique and valuable contribution to peacekeeping education and training as well as the preparation of individuals or groups for participation in future or current peace operations.

Dr. Langholtz was nominated for this award to recognize his significant personal contribution, commitment, and dedication to peacekeeping and peacekeeping education.  His emphasis of service has always been to increase the capacity of individual peacekeepers, to bring training and knowledge to the field practitioner, those serving in the most desperate conditions day in and day out.  The innovative methods of correspondence learning, and now E-Learning, has enabled thousands of peacekeepers around the world to study UN Peace Support Operations in places and at times when traditional types of training were impossible. We congratulate you on your years of service and on this award, well done.
