Sarah Todd (2010) Named a Finalist for a National Undergraduate Research Award

Sarah Todd

Kinesiology & Health Sciences major, Sarah Todd, has been named a finalist for the David Bruce Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Research, awarded by the American Physiological Society.  Sarah will present her research poster to a selection committee at the national meeting “Experimental Biology 2010” in Anaheim, CA in April.  She is one of 24 undergraduates nominated nationwide who will compete for the final award.  As a member of the Vascular Physiology Laboratory, Sarah’s research examines the molecular mechanisms of how arteries dilate to increases in blood flow.  Her research contributes to our understanding of how exercise, which increases blood flow, prevents artery disease and promotes enlargement of arteries to prevent heart attacks.
