Bio
Mark Mulligan is a Ph.D candidate whose research interests include the history of religion, Atlantic history, and early New England. His dissertation seeks to re-evaluate the extent of religious liberty in colonial Rhode Island.
Mark graduated magna cum laude from Assumption College in 2012 with a B.A. in History, a concentration in Research Methods, and minors in Education and Women's Studies. He received his M.A. in History from William and Mary in 2015. His master's thesis, "The Brafferton Estate: Harvard, William and Mary, and Religion in the Early Modern English Atlantic World," examines the interconnectedness of two English colonial American colleges with disparate, even conflicting, religious and political interests via the estate that funded both of their "Indian schools."
