Background
Robert B. Archibald came to William and Mary in 1976 from Washington, DC where he had worked for the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Bob chaired the economics department from 1986 to 1991. He served as Interim Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences for the 1996-97 academic year and as the Director of the Thomas Jefferson Program in Public Policy from 2000 to 2004. When he is not being an administrator, he teaches Intermediate Microeconomics, Statistics, and a seminar in Higher Education Economics. In the past, his research interests have been quite eclectic. He is now focusing his research on issues in higher education.
