Wednesday Workshops

Academic Enrichment & Research

Wednesdays, Blow 201, 4:30 - 6:00 PM

WMSURE’s workshop series is designed to help first-year students thrive academically and personallyas they start their academic journey. These programs create a strong foundation for success by fostering community, building research skills, and preparing students for real-world opportunities from day one.

Our First-Year Focused Workshop Curriculum

Each semester, WMSURE offers a series of themed workshops that guide students through key stages of their academic journey:

  • September: Community Development & Student-Life Acclimation
  • October: Academic Exploration
  • November: Summer Research Grant Process
  • February: Summer Research Grant Review
  • March: Real-World Applications of Research
  • April: Graduate & Professional Opportunities

By prioritizing first-year experiences and continuing support throughout college, WMSURE Workshops ensure students are ready for what’s next—every step of the way.
