Philosophy lies at the very heart of a sound liberal arts education, and it provides a strong foundation for professions in which analysis and argumentation are particularly advantageous. The courses we offer cover most fields of philosophical inquiry and range from introductory surveys suitable for all students to advanced seminars for students majoring in philosophy or related disciplines.
Many of our courses fulfill requirements in the new COLLEGE (COLL) curriculum introduced in Fall 2015. Many also satisfy the GER7 (Religious, Social, and Philosophical Thought), and several others satisfy the GER4A (History and Culture in the European Tradition), both of which are part of the former general ed curriculum. All of them will help you to hone your argumentative and writing skills. We welcome equally students who want to take just one course and students who are interested in majoring.
Students can use the links at the left to view more information about our courses and requirements. If you are considering a philosophy major, we would be happy to talk with you more about what philosophical training can do for you. Just get in touch with us by using the info on our contact page.
