Interdisciplinary Science Programs

Biology is an integral part of several interdisciplinary paths at William & Mary. Options include:

Biology and Law

Biology provides excellent preparation for specialized legal fields such as patent law, biomedical law, and policy. A B.S. in Biology combined with a law degree is an excellent path for students with an aptitude for both science and legal practice.

Teaching and Education Partnerships

The Biology Department partners with the W&M School of Education to train certified science teachers for grades 6–12.

Financial Support for Future Teachers:

  • Scholarships: Up to $10,000 per year during junior and senior years for those committing to teaching.

  • Master’s Support: $10,000 per year for biology graduates pursuing a Master’s in Education.
