Bio
Qiong Wu is a first-year Ph.D. student at W&M. She previously received her double master's degree in American Studies at Brown University and Beijing Foreign Studies University. She is interested in the US mercantile engagement with the Qing Empire's Thirteen Factory from the 1750s to 1840s. One of the main goals of her research is to understand the transculturation of economic ideas, cultural artifacts, and social practices that took place during the early US-China trade.  Qiong is currently a Digital Apprentice at the Omohundro Institute of Early American History and Culture.
