Bio
Ilan Werblow is a first year PhD candidate at William Mary interested in British and American agricultural science and its intersection with twentieth century politics. His dissertation will focus on how British and American farmers reacted to the Soviet scientific theory of Lysenkoism, and how individual farmers' relationship to science and technology impacted their views on a heavily politicized scientific theory.Ilan graduated magna cum laude from Tufts University in 2024, double majoring in History and Classics and completed his MSc in the History of Science, Medicine and Technology at the University of Oxford (St. Antony's College) in 2025. Outside of school, Ilan enjoys hiking, kayaking, and playing squash.
