Bio

Lilly is a second-year Ph.D. student. She graduated with an M.A. in history from the College of William & Mary in 2025. She obtained her B.S. in environmental science from the University of Pittsburgh in 2024 with a minor in history and a certificate in geographic information systems. As a former scientist and historian-in-training, Lilly is interested in maritime and coastal industries as sites of knowledge production and circulation in the early modern world. Her current work focuses on resource scarcity and reuse as key elements in the political economy of wrecking in the seventeenth-century English Atlantic.
