DR. ANN BALDWIN BATES SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
Scholarship Overview
Named in memory of Dr. Bates (W&M Biology ’90), this need-based scholarship (approximately $3,000) supports upper-class Biology majors who have demonstrated a selfless and compassionate commitment to others through volunteer healthcare service.
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for this award, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Service: Substantial high school and/or college volunteer service activity in healthcare settings.
- Major: A declared Biology major posted on DegreeWorks at the time of application.
- Academic Standing: Must be a sophomore or junior during the 2024-25 academic year.
- Financial Need: A 2025-26 FAFSA must be on file with the Financial Aid office demonstrating financial need.
Submission Instructions
- Deadline: Applications must be submitted before 5:00 PM on May 23rd.
- Submission Format: Email your completed form as a PDF file to Sarah Freeman.
- File Naming Convention: Save your file as LastName_FirstName_BaldwinBates.pdf.
- Confirmation: Please save the acknowledgement email once your application has been received.
