Research

Paul Eberwine's research focuses on classical Greek drama and its reception. His current book project, Living with the Dead: Athenian Tragedy and the Limits of the Political, argues that the surviving corpus of Greek tragedy is deeply preoccupied with the role of the dead in political community, and that the genre uses this preoccupation to critically engage with some of the fundamental tensions that marked classical Athenian political life more broadly.  His writing has been published in Classical Receptions Journal and the Journal of Hellenic Studies. He teaches Greek and Latin at all levels, as well as courses in translation on ancient literature and cultural history.
