Prof. Schniepp's Latest Publication on Spider Silk
Prof. Schniepp and his international colleagues published a paper entitled: Exploring the Unique Properties and Superior Schwann Cell Guiding Abilities of Spider Egg Sac Silk. Silk is a promising material that can also be used in a biomedical setting. For example, it can be used for sutures and tissue engineering. In this study, instead of using spider drag line, the focus is on egg sacs of Trichonephilia edulis. The two types of silks have different functions and properties.
