Joint Degree Programme

*Students beginning the joint degree programme at St Andrews University will pay tuition to St Andrews directly and only need to show funds for the living and student health insurance expenses. Students beginning the program at W&M must show tuition, living, and student health insurance expenses.

Tuition & Fees

These tuition and fees figures are estimates based on a 3% increase of the tuition and fees rates for each academic year. They do not guarantee actual costs and are only used for issuing your I-20 or DS-2019. The actual costs may be higher than those listed above. Please check the tuition and fees website for the most accurate information; graduate students should also check with their program.

F-1 and J-1 international students will also be charged a one-time New International Student Fee of $165 at the beginning of the student's program. They will also incur a $85 Service Fee for each enrolled semester with the exception of summer sessions.

Financial estimates for issuing the I-20 or DS-2019 immigration document are usually updated in November for ISSP begins issuing documents for new international students in December. The W&M Board of Visitors Executive Committee usually approves the upcoming academic year's tuition and fees in April or May. However, we do not update the financial estimates after the BOV approval so that the funding requirements are consistent for all new international students for the purpose of issuing the I-20 or DS-2019 document.

Living Expenses

Living expenses include estimated costs for housing, food, and personal expenses (e.g., cell phone, transportation, travel, books, clothes, etc.) for 9 months (fall and spring semesters).

These figures are estimates based on a 2% increase of the current annual costs estimates provided by the university.

Student Health Insurance

The university requires all full-time undergraduate and graduate students and all F-1 and J-1 international students to have health insurance coverage throughout the school year as a condition of enrollment. This figure is an estimate based on a 5% increase of the current annual cost of the student health insurance plan.
