Plumeri House Renovation and Addition
The Plumeri House at William & Mary is located at 119 Chandler Court. The 2 story frame house was formerly known as the Swem House as it once belonged to College Librarian Earl Gregg Swem. William & Mary purchased the house from Swem in 1963. Thanks to the generosity of Joseph Plumeri '66, D.P.S. '11, the Plumeri House continues the university's history of hospitality as a home away from home for special members of the William & Mary family.
A visioning study for the Plumeri House was completed in 2024, examining what a renovated and expanded facility could look like. The existing Plumeri House will be renovated and updated including all building systems. An addition of approximately 1,724 square feet will expand the building eastward towards the Stetson House property. Additionally, the approach to the house, including parking and circulation from Jamestown Road will be modified to increase parking and create several dedicated spaces for the facility. Landscape design for the house and the parking area, FF&E and interior design services are included in the project scope.
