Where did our graduating MAs go?
- Brittany Harte is working as a Senior Evaluation Analyst for the Virginia Department of Correction in Richmond, VA.
- Matthew Lowder is working at Duke as a Research Associate in the Center for Cognitive Neuroscience.
- Nathaniel Lucena is conducting Cognitive Neuroscience research at UNC.
- Mimi Poe is attending University of Colorado - Boulder Law School
- Peter Sadza is living in Tucson, Arizona with his new bride.
- Kori Stroub is doing research in the Education Department of William and Mary while taking classes there. He will be applying to a doctoral program next year.
- John Terrizzi is working as an Evaluation Analyst for the Virginia Department of Correction in Richmond, VA. He evaluates community corrections programs to see if they are effective in reducing the rates in which parolees and probationers revert to criminal behavior.
- Two of our students, Diana Morlen and Elizabeth Saddock, presented their research at the L. Starling Reid First Annual Undergraduate Psychology Research Conference this spring. Diana’s and Elizabeth’s work was conducted under the supervision of Janice Zeman and concerned emotion regulation in children. Click here to read their abstracts.
- Brandon Bryan, an advanced student in the Psy.D. program, presented his dissertation research on self-discrepancy measures in a paper session entitled, "Process and Outcome Measures for Person-Centered and Emotion-Focused Therapies," organized and moderated by his advisor, Neill Watson, at the 38th annual conference of the international Society for Psychotherapy Research in June in Madison, WI.

Emily Bever
Laura WilsonEmily Bever (class of 2006), and Laura Wilson (MA class of 2008) presented research they conducted at William & Mary with Professor Dallaire looking at the effects of parental incarceration on children at the American Psychological Association's annual conference in San Francisco this year.

This summer, Junior Amy Dorsey received a grant from the Charles Center to conduct her Monroe Research project on stigma and mental illness among adolescents. Working under the supervision of Douglas Gross, Amy surveyed Williamsburg-James City County high school students on their attitudes towards people with mental illness, as well as their willingness to seek treatment for themselves. Amy also interned in the public relations department of the Colonial Services Board, helping to raise awareness and support for those living with mental illness in the Williamsburg area, as well as developing a new educational brochure targeted towards teenagers.
