About the Experimental Music & Technology Ensemble

The Experimental Music & Technology Ensemble was established in fall 2025. Members of the ensemble explore improvisation, nontraditional notation, and concepts in music technology. Rehearsals will consist of developing methods for realizing and performing works in the experimental music tradition using a combination of musical instruments, computers, simple circuitry and electronics, and found objects. The repertoire covered in this course will draw from composers such as John Cage, James Tenney, Alison Knowles, Christian Wolff, Pauline Oliveros, and Ben Patterson and can include work by students interested in composing for the ensemble. All instruments and voices are welcome.
