Chinese collaborative pianist Linxi Zhao is active in diverse genres including chamber music, vocal arts, opera, choral repertoire, symphonic works, cabaret, and musical theater. She is a passionate advocate for the integration of music and technology, exploring creative intersections between classical performance and emerging digital tools. As a performer and teacher, Linxi encourages curiosity and innovation in music-making.Linxi served as an Adjunct Instructor at North Carolina Central University in 2015, where she provided private diction instruction (German, French, and Italian) for undergraduate voice students. She has presented at the North Carolina Music Teachers National Association (NCMTNA) conferences and the International Keyboard Collaborative Arts Society (IKCAS) CollabFest. Her recent research includes underrepresented American art song composers, such as Paul Schoenfield and Ned Rorem, and the use of machine learning in music composition.
Linxi is completing her DMA in Collaborative Piano at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and earned her MM in Collaborative Piano and BM in Music Education from the Wuhan Conservatory of Music. Her primary teachers have included Congcong Chai and James Douglass. Originally classically trained in singing, she later expanded into jazz performance. In her free time, Linxi enjoys tennis and cooking.
